Council Business
Black Diamond MPD update: Peter Rimbos
Peter reported on the current process of the Development Agreements for the Yarrow Bay MPDs. He also reported on the county's Growth Management Planning Council's update of the County-wide Planning Policies (CPPs), which is the first since its inception in the 1990s.
501(c)3 As Councilman Morris was unable to attend, this was tabled.
Train Show: This year's train show is to be held October 15-16 at the Gracie Hanson building, as usual.
Ravensdale Park: Gordon Moorman reported that Ravensdale Park remodeling is under way and should be finished around Thanksgiving. Moorman also reported that the county has no trouble finding the additional $400,000 (+ or -) needed because of plan revision requirements. The council felt this was unusual in light of recent county fiscal problems.
School Siting:
Peter Rimbos reported on the GMPC's update concerning the siting of schools in the Rural Area serving urban area residents. The concern is that this creates increased and perhaps undue pressure on the infrastructure in the rural areas. Tahoma has one potential school site in the Rural Area. It should be pointed out, however, that this site was purchased before there was an urban area.
