January 2012 Meeting Minutes
7:00 PM
Roll Call: Peter Rimbos absent, Les Dawson has proxy
Review and Approve Agenda: so acted
Approval of minutes: Both November and December 2011 approved
7:10 PM: Council Business
Susan Harvey and Tara Mahoney were sworn in as new members of GMVUAC.
Treasurer’s report
Until 2012 GMVUAC was reimbursed up to $10,000 per year for expenses. That has ended. We now are responsible for costs incurred by the council. There is money in the bank to keep us going for a while.
Officers Elected
Steve Hiester is Pres. of GMVUAC, Warren Iverson V. Pres. Les Dawson is Recording Secretary, Peter Rimbos is Corresponding Sec. and Dave Fields is Treasurer.
Minority Reports Discussion
Dave Fields moved to formalize minority reports. Amended motions by Dave are attached. Both motions passed. The motions, in their final form, are attached.
Jim Callow moved to have no emails sent as “blind copies” as he felt it important that all know who was commenting on council business through the email. It was decided that this need not be an amendment to the council, but that standard practices would dictate no more blind copies.
501C3 Status
Tabled for future discussion
Elections of GMVUAC Members and Survey
Still waiting on results of KCC’s decision as to status of existing UACs and new CSAs.
Road Services
Jim Callow had spoken to Jeff Granlund about mix-up in road services to those in unincorporated areas. Jim then went on to discuss the issue with KC Exec. Dow Constantine and was not satisfied with discussion results.
Gordon Moorman reported the ball fields in Ravensdale are finished with current phase of remodeling. He also reported that two attempts to change zoning status in Ravensdale, one by Reserve Silica and one by Erickson Logging, were denied, Reserve Silica was determined to have “Determination of Non Significance” status. Because of the zoning status of Erickson Logging, new zoning would not be granted.
At the end of the meeting Gordon Moorman resigned as member GMVUAC. His resignation was very reluctantly accepted. Gordon has been a valued member of the council and will sorely be missed.
